為紀念世界新聞自由日30週年與世界人權宣言75週年，聯合國（United Nations, UN）、歐洲安全暨合作組織（The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, OSCE）、非洲人權與民族委員會（The African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights, ACHPR）與泛美人權委員會（The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, IACHR）於2023年5月2日公布《媒體自由與民主聯合宣言（Joint Declaration on Media Freedom and Democracy）》。
