澳洲通訊及媒體管理局（Australian Communications and Media Authority, ACMA）為回應廣播電視節目業者反應字幕品質審核標準模糊之議題，釋出字幕指導方針草案（draft captioning quality guidelines），旨在維護廣播電視節目字幕品質的標準，該草案公眾諮詢截至2023年12月11日止，其內容包括但不限於：

美國聾人協會（National Association of the Deaf，NAD）、聾人與聽力障礙者電信公司（Telecommunications for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Inc.，TDI）和美國聽損協會（Hearing Loss Association of America，HLAA）等團體於2019年7月底向美國聯邦通訊委員會（Federal Communications Commission，FCC）提交了一份請願書，希望制定相關標準以改善電視節目的字幕品質。
