根據歐盟《數位服務法（Digital Services Act, DSA）》規定的透明度義務，受指定的超大型線上平臺（Very Large Online Platforms, VLOPs）及超大型線上搜尋引擎（Very Large Online Search Engines, VLOSEs）須每6個月發布一次透明度報告。截至2023年10月26日，亞馬遜（Amazon）、領英（LinkedIn）、抖音（TikTok）、Pinterest、Snapchat、Zalando與Bing等7個線上平臺/搜尋引擎已發布首份透明度報告。

歐盟執委會（European Commission, EC）啟動「歐洲演算法透明度中心（European Centre for Algorithmic Transparency, ECAT）」，為EC提供技術和科學專業知識，確保超大型線上平臺（Very Large Online Platforms, VLOPs）和超大型線上搜尋引擎業者（Very Large Online Search Engines, VLOSEs）的演算法符合《數位服務法（Digital Services Act, DSA）》的風險管理、緩解以及透明度要求。
